Let’s connect the dots between rage and doing way too much because they’re twins.
Most women don’t walk around angry. We walk around overloaded. Over-giving. Over-performing. Over-caretaking. Over-explaining. Over-functioning.
And rage? Rage is often the body’s emergency brake. A last-ditch signal that says I literally cannot do more.
Doing less isn’t a luxury. It’s the antidote to the emotional, hormonal, and nervous system overwhelm that eventually spills out as rage.
Your body doesn’t want perfection. It wants rhythm. Space. Safety.
A slower pace so your hormones can stop sprinting.

A Breathing Exercise for When You’re About to Overdo and Lead to Rage!
Use this anytime you feel yourself ramping up, spiraling, or saying yes out of guilt:
The 4-2-6 Reset
- Inhale for 4
- Hold for 2
- Exhale for 6
- Repeat 3 times
The longer exhale signals safety and you’ll feel the shift.
Final Thought
Doing less is not selfish. It is a form of nervous system repair. And sometimes the bravest, most unladylike thing you can do…is stop carrying what was never yours to hold.
