7 tiny shifts to calm your hormones this week

The Tuesday Uprising

Hey Rebel,

Last week we shined a flashlight on Haunted Hormones all about when cortisol runs the show and everything feels off.

This week, we’re going deeper into the shadows with what I call When Stress Creeps In. 👻

Because let’s be honest… stress doesn’t usually crash through the door.

It creeps in through one skipped meal, one sleepless night, one too-long to-do list at a time.

And before you know it, cortisol is steering the ship while progesterone, your calm, grounding hormone, is whispering, “hey… remember me?”

Why I Start with Stress

Here’s the thing: in my Hormone Power Pyramid™, we always start at the base with Survival.

Let’s be honest, if your body doesn’t feel safe, it doesn’t care how clean your smoothie is or which supplement you ordered last week.

Because I am a social work geek, you know I had to base this method off of behavioral psychology (a hormone-focused spin on Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs - for my fellow geeks out there who are interested in knowing more!).

We build from the ground up: survival → safety → support → strength → synergy.

That’s what makes my work different from most balance your hormones in 30 days advice.

We don’t slap glitter on a stress response, but instead we rebuild the foundation first.

A Client Perspective

One of my clients came to me frustrated.

She’d been trying to fix her estrogen fluctuations for months by eating cleaner, tracking her cycle, even taking supplements but every time she felt a little better, she’d crash again.

When we started working together, we didn’t start with her estrogen.

We started at the base (Survival) by focusing on safety, stress, and stability first.

And something powerful happened: her energy evened out, her mood steadied, and she finally felt empowered instead of confused. Because she finally understood what was happening inside her body.

We had more work to do with her inflammation and blood sugar, but her body started to move out of survival mode and into safety mode in which her body actually started to believe she was safe.

7 Days of Stress-Soothing Shifts

Let's start making small shifts in your life one small, doable tip a day! The tips are the kind of nervous-system-first support I teach inside my membership, Unregulated, to help your body trust you again.

Each one takes five minutes or less. No perfection, no pressure! Just tiny shifts that calm cortisol and support your hormones.

Day One: Eat a protein balanced meal before caffeine
Day Two: Take a 10-minute walk in the sunlight
Day Three: Eat a balanced snack that includes protein + fat + fiber. Download my free balanced snack handout for ideas (also available in my membership).
Day Four: Try the 4-7-8 breathing reset. Download my 5 Minute Calming Reset handout (also available in my membership).
Day Five: One hour before bed go screen-free
Day Six: Write down three sentences of gratitude
Day Seven: Turn in early at night or start a warm bath ritual

Little things → big nervous-system wins.

I know that these shifts sound almost too simple. But that’s the point. Your body doesn’t need another overhaul; it needs safety, steadiness, and small steps that signal that your body can trust again.

Recipe Coming This Thursday: The Stress-Soothing Harvest Bowl

Because sometimes the best regulation starts with lunch.

We’ll make a fall-flavored bowl that nourishes cortisol, supports progesterone, and actually keeps you full past 3 p.m.

Next Tuesday, we’re tackling The Candy Conundrum because what’s Halloween without a little chocolate? 🍫

But here’s the catch: those blood sugar spikes that feel fun in the moment? They send your cortisol and estrogen into full-on chaos. I’ll show you how to keep your sparkle and your sanity with no sugar shame required.
